Hydro Flask Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle — 40 oz Moonshadow Wide Mouth with Flex Straw

Hydro Flask's 40 oz Wide Mouth bottle with the leakproof Flex Straw Cap is an insulated stainless steel water bottle that keeps drinks cold for up to 24 hours while offering easy sipping and spill-free transport.

This Moonshadow-colored 40 ounce Hydro Flask combines durable pro-grade stainless steel, TempShield double-wall vacuum insulation, and a convenient Flex Straw Cap to deliver a large-capacity, refillable bottle for all-day hydration. It’s designed for people who need a robust bottle for work, workouts, commuting, or outdoor adventures. The wide mouth accepts ice and simplifies cleaning, while the straw lid flips open for one-handed sipping and locks closed to prevent leaks.

How long will a drink stay cold in the 40 oz Hydro Flask?

The TempShield double-wall vacuum insulation keeps beverages cold for extended periods—commonly up to 24 hours under normal use. Insulation performance depends on ambient temperature and whether the bottle is opened frequently, but the 40 oz size provides substantial thermal mass to retain chill longer than smaller bottles.

• Double-wall vacuum prevents heat transfer for long-lasting cold.
• Larger 40 oz volume holds more cold liquid and ice.
• Minimal opening time helps maintain internal temperature.
• Stainless steel resists taste transfer for consistently fresh flavor.

Is the Flex Straw Cap really leakproof and easy to use?

The Flex Straw Cap is engineered to close securely and resist leaks when the straw is stowed. It flips open for quick sipping and can be clicked shut before tossing the bottle into a bag, combining convenience with confidence for travel and commutes.

• Flip-to-sip straw for one-handed drinking.
• Secure closure mechanism reduces accidental spills.
• Detachable parts make the lid easy to clean and maintain.
• Lightweight and ergonomic for everyday carry.

How do you clean and care for this Hydro Flask bottle?

The bottle and its Flex Straw Cap are designed for easy cleaning: disassemble the straw lid and place the components on the top rack of the dishwasher, or hand-wash with warm soapy water. Regular cleaning prevents buildup around the straw and preserves the bottle’s appearance and taste neutrality.

• Disassemble straw lid before washing.
• Top-rack dishwasher safe for the lid and bottle.
• Hand-wash recommended for longevity and gasket inspection.
• Rinse immediately after flavored drinks to avoid residue.

What makes the Moonshadow finish and materials worth choosing?

The Moonshadow finish offers a muted, versatile color that resists fading and looks at home in office, gym, and outdoor settings. Constructed from durable stainless steel with a long-lasting powder coat, the bottle holds up to daily knocks and preserves beverage flavor without metallic aftertaste.

• Durable powder coat preserves color and grip.
• Pro-grade stainless steel ensures pure taste.
• Large wide mouth fits ice and simplifies filling.
• 40 oz capacity reduces refill frequency for busy days.

Who is this for: The Hydro Flask 40 oz Wide Mouth with Flex Straw Cap is ideal for active commuters, gym-goers, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone who wants a sizable, dependable bottle that stays cold all day and won’t leak in transit. If you need a refillable bottle with easy sipping, durable construction, and a practical Moonshadow finish, this model balances capacity, convenience, and thermal performance without fuss.
