Ophanie 9x12 Ivory Shag Area Rug — Thick Plush Polyester, Non-Slip Backing for Living Room & Nursery

Ophanie 9x12 ivory shag area rug — a thick, ultra-soft indoor carpet designed to add warmth, cushioning, and a plush sensory surface to living rooms, bedrooms, nurseries, and dorms.

This large Ophanie rug measures approximately 9 by 12 feet and features a high-density pile with over 99 individual fibers for a lush, fluffy feel underfoot. Made from skin-friendly polyester with a sponge interlayer and an anti-slip dotted backing, it blends cozy texture with practical grip. The neutral ivory tone and simple, solid design make it easy to layer or use as a focal flooring piece to soften hard surfaces and visually warm up spaces.

How does the rug feel and perform underfoot?

The Ophanie shag offers a deep, velvety pile for a luxurious sensation when walking, sitting, or playing on it. The sponge interlayer adds resilient cushioning while reducing fiber shedding, and the polyester fibers are smooth to the touch.

• Deep shag pile with over 99 pile fibers for plush comfort
• High-density sponge layer improves support and reduces flattening
• Soft polyester surface suitable for barefoot use
• Designed to minimize shedding for everyday use

Will this rug stay in place and work on different floors?

The rug includes a non-slip backing studded with small anti-slip dots to increase friction and resist sliding on hard floors. While effective on wood, tile, or laminate, pairing with an additional rug pad is recommended for extra grip, insulation, or protection on delicate floors.

• Durable anti-slip dot backing reduces movement on smooth surfaces
• Compatible with rug pads for improved stability and floor protection
• Works on a variety of hard floors; use tape or pad for extra security

Is this rug safe and easy to care for around kids and pets?

Constructed from polyester and a sponge core, the Ophanie rug is soft, non-abrasive, and suitable for family spaces where children and pets play. The material is easy to spot-clean, and regular vacuuming with a suction-only setting helps maintain pile loft without damaging fibers.

• Skin-friendly polyester surface gentle for children and pets
• Simple spot cleaning; vacuum gently to preserve pile
• A good choice for play areas, nurseries, and pet-friendly rooms

How does this rug fit into room design and decorating styles?

The neutral ivory color and simple solid texture make the Ophanie rug versatile for many decorating themes from minimalist to hygge-inspired layering. It can act as a base layer for furniture groupings or be overlaid on patterned rugs to create depth and warmth in rooms with sparse furnishings.

• Neutral tone complements many color palettes and furniture styles
• Ideal for layering—adds texture and visual warmth to simple spaces
• Perfect for living rooms, bedrooms, nurseries, and dorm rooms
