Rubbermaid XL Hip-Hugger Laundry Basket 2.1-Bushel, White with Blue Handles — Ergonomic Hip Fit & Comfort-Grip Handles

The Rubbermaid XL Hip-Hugger Laundry Basket is a 2.1-bushel, ergonomically shaped hamper designed to sit comfortably at your hip for easy one-handed carrying.

This molded plastic laundry basket blends a roomy 2.1-bushel capacity with a hip-hugging silhouette and three comfort-grip handles so you can move clothing, linens, or towels without strain. Finished in white with contrasting royal blue handles, it balances lightweight portability and durable construction, and its smooth interior helps protect delicate fabrics from snags.

How does the hip-hugger shape make hauling laundry easier?

The tapered profile fits snugly against your hip, lowering the center of gravity so loads feel more secure while walking. This shape reduces forward or sideways tipping compared with straight-sided baskets and allows you to carry the basket with one hand or cradle it against your body.

• Molded curvature designed to rest at the hip for stability.
• Lower center of gravity decreases the chance of spills.
• Three strategically placed handles let you carry in front or on the hip.
• Lightweight plastic reduces overall carrying weight.

Will this basket protect delicate clothing?

The basket’s smooth interior and rounded edges minimize fabric catching and abrasion, which helps protect delicate items during transport. Because it lacks sharp seams or woven holes, it’s less likely to pull threads or cause snags compared with many traditional laundry tubs.

• Seamless molded interior avoids sharp edges that catch fabric.
• Rounded lip and handle openings protect clothing when loading or carrying.
• Easy-to-clean surface prevents residue buildup that can stain garments.

How much laundry fits in a 2.1-bushel Rubbermaid basket?

At 2.1 bushels, this basket accommodates multiple outfits, several towels, or a load of bedding for a small washer. It’s large enough for bedroom, bathroom, or small household laundry tasks while still being compact enough to store in closets or laundry rooms when not in use.

• 2.1-bushel volume holds the equivalent of several garments or towels.
• Dimensions around 21.2" x 19.9" x 11.2" for compact storage.
• Suits apartment, dorm, or family laundry routines without taking much space.

How durable and easy to maintain is this Rubbermaid basket?

Constructed from sturdy molded plastic, the basket resists cracking and is built for regular household use. Its smooth finish wipes clean with a damp cloth, and the durable handles are designed to withstand repeated lifting and transport.

• Robust molded construction resists everyday wear and tear.
• Comfort-grip handles reduce hand fatigue for frequent use.
• Wipes clean quickly; suitable for damp laundry environments.
• Compact footprint fits closets, shelves, and laundry carts.
