SAFAVIEH Arizona Shag Area Rug 9x12 — Ivory & Beige Moroccan-Boho, Plush Low-Shedding Pile

The SAFAVIEH Arizona Shag 9x12 rug is a plush, Moroccan-inspired area rug in ivory and beige that offers a soft, low-shedding pile and durable woven backing for living rooms, bedrooms, or dining spaces.

The Arizona Shag Collection reinterprets Southwestern and Moroccan motifs into a contemporary, tactile rug built for everyday rooms. Machine-woven from upgraded synthetic fibers, this 9x12 rug delivers a luxurious feel underfoot while remaining simple to maintain. It’s designed to sit flat and resist shedding, and its neutral ivory-and-beige palette complements varied decor from boho to transitional.

How will this rug stand up to daily use?

This rug combines a dense, flowy pile with a sturdy woven backing to balance comfort and durability. The synthetic construction helps minimize loose fibers, while the backing supports traffic and furniture placement.

• Machine-woven fibers engineered to be low-shedding
• Woven backing for shape retention and stability
• Recommended rug pad reduces shifting and protects floor

What maintenance is required to keep the pile looking plush?

Care is straightforward: regular vacuuming without a rotating beater bar preserves the texture and prevents fiber damage. For longer piles, a rug rake restores loft, and spot cleaning with mild detergent handles minor spills.

• Vacuum regularly using suction-only mode
• Use a rug rake to revive longer fibers if flattened
• Blot spills immediately; avoid harsh chemicals

Will the rug arrive ready to use or need unpacking tricks?

Shipping can temporarily crease or curl edges from rolling—this is normal for larger shag rugs. Lay the rug flat, reverse- or back-roll it for a short time, and allow the fibers to relax; light brushing or a rug rake will speed recovery.

• Lay flat and let fibers settle for 24–72 hours
• Reverse-roll briefly to smooth creases
• Use a rug rake to lift pile after settling

How does the color and size translate to a real room?

The ivory and beige tones read as warm neutrals that blend with wood, stone, or painted floors. Size may vary slightly by manufacturing tolerances; measure your space and allow for a modest margin when planning furniture layout.

• Neutral palette complements multiple design styles
• 9x12 fits under large furniture groupings and dining sets
• Expect minor size and color variation between dye lots

Who is this rug best for? The SAFAVIEH Arizona Shag 9x12 is ideal for homeowners and renters who want a large, cozy area rug that adds texture and a subtle Moroccan-boho look without demanding intensive upkeep. It suits families seeking a soft surface for living rooms or bedrooms, designers specifying neutral anchors for layered interiors, and anyone who prefers low-shedding synthetic fibers with a reliable backing. For best performance, pair with a quality rug pad and follow the care steps above to maintain appearance and comfort.
